Some water sports in Pattaya




Water sport is a common name in the beach resorts of Pattaya. It is like heaven for the adventurous people. Most of the water sports are available in this seaside resort. Para-sailing, jet-skis, deep sea diving, yatch racing are some of the important names. If you are interested in para –sailing, the boats will pick up from Bali Hi Pier to pontoons. At that place instruction will be given to beginners. Weather is very important in para-sailing. Though this is a lifetime experience safety should be given importance in all the way.

Sailing has a vast resource in Pattaya beach. Boats can be hired on daily basis. You can take a dingy boat and can sail from one island to another. Swimming is a favourite sport in Thailand. People often go fully clothed as they don’t want to expose much in the public. The sea becomes very cool throughout the year. In hot season at the twenty eight degree temperature swimming in the sea becomes very pleasant. Some of the important dive sites can be mentioned as:
  • Koh Larn: This is the largest one located near Pattaya. There are many dive spots at this place. Young sharks as well as turtle and cuttlefish can be seen from this place.
  • Koh Krok: This small island is perfect for drift diving.
  • Koh Sak: This island is ideal for the beginners. Lots of hard corals and fishes are available in this low diving region.
  • Koh Rin: It takes ninety minutes to reach the place. Away from 15 kms this island has three main diving sites. Koh Rin Bay is away from water current whereas Hin Ton Mai and Hin Khao are popular for their rich diversity of fish and coral.
  • Koh Phai: This is also known as Bamboo Island. This island is controlled by the Royal Thai Navy.
  • Koh Man Wichai: This is a cozy island with lots of corals and small fishes.

Deep sea fishing is another interesting activity. There are several trips per day that come up with good output. Queen fish, sail fish, marlin, shark, cobia, barracuda, all are available in these sea waters. Pattaya has several beach activities. Volleyball, jet skiing, boat rides, beach football are some of them.
