Diving – Life under the sea in Thailand


Thailand is famous for islands and beautiful beaches where diving is an all time favorite sport for local people as well for the tourists. Over the years the numbers of diver’s across the globe has raised to many folds. The visibility is some of the beaches in Thailand is near to 30 meters. Underwater mountains, undersea rocks, hard coral, soft coral, coral garden, sharks, whale is part of the sea life in Thailand.
Andaman Sea is the best diving spot in Thailand. You can also enjoy diving in Gulf of Thailand. The visibility of Andaman sea is almost identical to Gulf of Thailand, but the coral reefs are much more extensive in Andaman. Hin Daeng and Hin Mouang dive is very famous in southwest Thailand. Hin Daeng is known for Red Rock and Hin Mouang is known for Purple Rock. There are islands such as Similan Island and Surin Island, which are also popular for diving.
During the Vietnam War, American Navy SEAL has began diving in Thailand. Soon after the diving stores opened in Pattaya. Thereafter no look back and the sport has gained its popularity in both foreign tourists as well as to local Thai’s.
One of the important diving destinations is Phuket Island. This is undoubtedly the largest diving point in Thailand. The reefs out here are in soft colorful corals. The marine life is one of the major attractions in this region. There are diving spots in these parts of Thailand those are very deep in the sea. Racha Yai is one of the famous diving points in Phuket area and known for rocky reefs.
Krabi province is one of the fascinating range in Thailand for diving expedition. This area has abundance of lime stones, soft corals and the marine life is so beautiful that it has become a very popular diving spot for incoming tourists. The area is also popular for its damage during Tsunami disaster.
